Elizabeth Ramsey

Elizabeth Ramsey will receive her bachelor from the Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at University of Houston. She joined our team as an intern in August of 2019 and is now our Benefits Coordinator. She’s already working to build solid relationships with clients by helping solve any issues clients may bring to her. She also happens to love the behind the scene work that is required to make sure every employee gets the help they need. At the end of 2019, Elizabeth earned her CHIA title. While specific to hotel industry analytics, she believes the attention to detail required to earn that title will translate into the detailed work she does here. Elizabeth loves working at First Harbor thanks to the amazing people she gets to work with, and the awesome clients she gets to serve.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with the Lord, learning calligraphy/hand letting, cooking with her Instant Pot, baking made from scratch cookies, walking in Houston’s many beautiful parks, and spending time with her wonderful friends and family.

Rosie Orozco, Operations Coordinator

Rosie Orozco has been with First Harbor as an Operations Coordinator and Office Administrator since 2006. Rosie provides an overall direction to various departments while promoting accuracy of client support and ensures departments are effective. She has extensive experience in overseeing quality management in every department as well as handling all office functions form Operations, IT triage, Payroll, Human Resources and Accounting.

She enjoys generating new ideas in promoting a healthy and positive office cultural of high performance and commitment. Providing a day-to-day leadership style for business development operations and management with vision to ensure that the organization has the proper operational process, controls, administrative and reporting procedures in order to ensure operating efficiency.

Rosie graduated with an Associates of Applied Science from Lone Star College with a minor in Accounting and currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Administration. Rosie has earned various certificates; HIPPA Training, Pharmacy Technician, Notary and with ongoing training in Quick Books Certifications I and II. She seeks to further her training at every opportunity and welcomes the knowledge.

Rosie while very dedicated to her work, continues to be a role model for her family. She enjoys shopping for antiques or unique relics, as well as cooking new recipes and exploring the outdoors or going on a new bike trail. Overall spending valuable time with her family is her highest priority.

David M. Miller, CLU, CHFC, President

David has provided individuals and businesses with insurance, investment and retirement plan direction since 1988. One of his passions includes helping businesses design, implement, and service retirement plans that meet both the objectives of the participants and company ownership.

Over the past 30 years, David has had extensive experience in a wide variety of retirement plans including 401k plans, profit sharing plans, defined benefit plans, cash balance plans and non-qualified plans designed to retain key employees. David also serves as a 321 Fiduciary advisor on the retirement plans, we service.

David graduated from Baylor University in 1980 with a B.A. in Business and has since earned the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). David speaks yearly at public seminars and benefit forums on a variety of insurance and retirement plan topics. David and his spouse, Julie have been married for 36 years and have three children. He is an active member of First Baptist Church and enjoys exercising, golf, cycling, and family time together.

Joe Christianson, CFA, Lead Service Advisor

Joe Christianson has served as First Harbor’s Lead Service Advisor since 2018. Joe focuses on working with both our qualified retirement plans and our individual investments accounts. In addition to investment analysis and relationship management, Joe also focuses extensively on employee education to help our clients understand the importance of planning for their future.

Joe has extensive financial experience starting with the Bank of New York Mellon in 2005 and progressing to both BlackRock and UBS. He received his CFA Charter in 2011 and has experience with 401(k), 403(b), 457, and Defined Benefit plans since 2014.

Joe is a University of Houston graduate with a B.S. in Mathematics. He also attended the University of Iowa College of Law. Joe and his wife Ainsley have four rescue dogs. He is also is an avid runner having completed four marathons, three ultra-marathons, and will soon compete in his first 100-kilometer race in February 2020. Most importantly, Joe has a passion for helping others obtain financial security through sound planning principles.

Carla Englade, ASCR, SGS, Senior Account Manager

Carla Englade has been First Harbor’s Senior Account Manager since 2012. Carla heads up the marketing and servicing of our clients’ benefit offerings. She also enjoys working closely with employers and their employees to help educate them on how their benefits might work best for them.

Carla has 20+ years of experience in benefits and has worked for both insurance carriers and insurance agencies all the while learning and adapting to the ever-changing world of benefits. She has experience with various funding arrangements and looks for innovative cost- effective ways to help her clients. Carla also has a current Texas Life and Health license as well as specific health and welfare designations.

In her free time, Carla loves spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking from scratch, and being crafty with her daughter.
